SPCA Monterey County

Campus Modernization

Set on 28 acres in the rolling hills between Salinas and Monterey, SPCA Monterey County’s campus consists of some 11 buildings, with a mix between older and newer structures. Starting out with master planning exercises, we assisted SPCA in defining the next move in their never-ending efforts to provide the best in services to the animals and people of the County. This meant both remodel and new construction of buildings to suit the need. Challenged by steep topography and sensitive sightlines, much care was given to building placement and height. Despite those challenges, a successful project has emerged. A renewed TLC facility, a remodeled education center and a new public-facing training center now serve as the natural extension to cat and dog adoption facilities developed in the early 2000’s.
