Harbor High School

Aquatics Facility

Part of a larger campus-wide effort to improve and provide parity of its athletics facilities, this project involved the demolition and replacement of an aquatics facility. Challenged by substandard soils conditions and limited real estate, we found a novel but highly effective approach of relocating the pool to an underutilized plaza at the lower campus adjacent to the gym and other sports facilities, where the soils present less issues. The new pool provides 13 competition swimming lanes plus provisions for a full collegiate-level water polo field. The pool is supported by a new state-of-the art mechanical room, along with a separate weight training room.
